Ways to Meet Your Team's Fundraising Target

While we all know that the Wheelchair Relay is a fun and challenging event, it is also a fundraising event for the Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario.
Thanks to you, CPA Ontario is able to continue funding essential services to individuals with mobility impairments in the Ottawa region.
Remember to ask everywhere you go! At office meetings, at clubs and group meetings for example. You'll be surprised at the result. As soon as your friends find out you're raising money for a charity and are told your teams goal, they will not refuse to support.
Ask for donations inside and outside of the office from friends, family and neighbours.

Special Events:
Get your entire office or even the entire office building involve developing special events to raise donations. A lunch BBQ, car wash or bake sale are simple activities that can be undertaken with a minimum of fuss. Or try an office dress-down day where staff pay for the privilege of wearing casual clothes.

Get your companys support:
If you are a corporate team, challenge your employer to match the donations you raise. If your company contributes, it adds to the total amount your team raises and brings the total closer to your fundraising goal.
Show your committmnet to the cause by making your own donation.
This donation demonstrates your personal commitment to the Relay and will set the tone of the doanation level made by the rest of your sponsors.
Have your family and friends help you canvass for donations. One doesn't have to be a wheeler to collect donations, spread the word around or to encourage others to donate to your team.

Create an incentive for your team to raise funds by having a team donation raising challenge. The team member who raises the most receive a simple prize (for example: if you are a corporate team, ask your employer to offer a day off work)
Remind sponsors that CPA Ontario is a non-profit organization and donations over $10 are tax deductible.
