The AgileCore Management System provides the "operations window" for the AgileCore portfolio, offering unparalleled visibility and control for the backbone DWDM network. Advances in photonic switching, DWDM transport and intelligent optical signaling technologies available in the AgileCore network allow service providers to build highly scalable, dynamically configurable optical backbone networks. This
next-generation optical architecture permits scaling
to multi-terabit networks. To take advantage of this raw network capacity service providers also need to scale their operations capability. The AgileCore Management System provides the tools that allow service providers to meet the operations scalability challenge.

Key Features

• Rapid bandwidth deployment with point and click, end-end wavelength activation

• Network Dashboard proactive capacity management informs network operators where and when additional capacity is needed

• Service aware management correlates network information to wavelengths, simplifying day-to-day network operations

• Quickly troubleshoot performance problems using end-to-end wavelength performance monitoring and on-demand, embedded BER testing throughout the network

• Open architecture to facilitate integration with OSS infrastructure

• Network Data Transfer with Planning & Engineering Center and design network expansion with accurate network data

INNOVANCE NETWORKS
delivers a portfolio of agile, intelligent photonic networking solutions that enable service providers to build profitable,
next-generation core optical networks. The Innovance Networks AgileCore solution offers 'Just-in-Time' capacity and accelerates the deployment of services through the core, simplifies the network and reduces the cost of operations, while addressing the network scalability challenges beyond providing raw capacity.

Service Aware Management
All AgileCore Management Systems applications have been designed with end-to-end wavelengths in mind. Using a standard, layered network information model, relationships between network equipment and wavelengths can be easily tracked. This, in turn, provides powerful correlation capabilities making day-to-day tasks easy for the user. With simple point and click operations, users can determine which wavelengths and customers are affected by a fault or which network resources are used by a wavelength.

Stay Ahead of Bandwidth Demand
Anticipating where additional network capacity is required ahead of demand unlocks a new level in responsiveness to bandwidth demand. The Network Dashboard provides real time resource usage information to pinpoint network hot spots where additional resources are required. Key network resources such as add/drop interfaces and wavelength converters/regenerators are monitored at every site. This decouples the wavelength provisioning process from equipment deployment, enabling service providers to run lean, responsive networks without elaborate forecasting and planning.

Wavelength Activation
Activate wavelengths across the entire network with an easy to use, point and click interface. The user can simply specify the A and Z locations and the class of service. Connect Center leverages the call control infrastructure and photonic routing intelligence embedded in the AgileCore Network Operating System to provide the lowest cost end-to-end wavelength route. Alternately, the service provider can have full control over the wavelength route, specifying either complete or partial route constraints.

Wavelength monitoring
All wavelengths support SONET performance monitoring at network ingress/egress points,
end-to-end digital performance monitoring using digital wrapper technology and analog optical measurements. All performance monitoring data is correlated to end-to-end wavelengths. On-demand, non-intrusive "optical eavesdropping" taps can be switched into a path at any pass-through site to get true digital performance measurements, simplifying troubleshooting.

OSS Integration
TMN architecture with open interfaces based on Telemangement Forum CORBA specifications ensure that the AgileCore Management System can be seamlessly integrated into the service provider's OSS infrastructure. The standard information models (ITU M.3100, G.872, G.805) provided within the AgileCore Management System enable open information exchange.

Network wide security administration
A common security service is used for all AgileCore Management System, TPX 1000, DLS 1000 and TPG 1000 Craft Interface users - allowing secure access anywhere within the network. This offers centralized control of all users and roles with automatic distribution throughout the AgileCore network.

Network Data Transfer
Plan network evolution and optimize the existing network using real network information. The AgileCore Management System can exchange network information with the AgileCore Planning & Engineering Center.
